Xchange Network releases "Bridge" to computer systems |
July 2005
Xchange Network announced today the release XC Bridge, a software solution that enables data sharing despite incompatibilities between operating systems, data formats and languages.
XC Bridge allows the synchronization any data from any application, between and across Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Unix -- it will even work with cell phones.
The software also does not require custom programming, which reduces implementation costs. What's the secret? The data is never reformatted.
Instead, it is retrieved from an existing application and wrapped into "XML blobs," representations of the data wrapped in XML code. Once wrapped up, XC Bridge synchronizes the data to and from client connectors that apply the data in context.
The client connectors for each application require only modifications that are typically under 1,000 lines of code tailored to the specific application -- a task that can be accomplished in days rather than months. As a result, XC Bridge has no need to 'understand' the data as it is simply passed along to other client connectors as needed thereby eliminating any possibility of data loss during synchronization. Data transfer is secure and access to the data is based upon a permissions model.
