Xchange Network delivers powerful collaboration functionality for Mac iCal and Address Book users |
May 2006
Xchange Network, a leading provider of advanced collaboration solutions, today announced that their powerful collaboration application—XC Connect™—enables dynamic data sharing for Mac iCal and Address Book users. Providing complete collaboration functionality across multiple operating systems, XC Connect allows Mac OS X users to create, modify, and share iCal and Address Book records with other Mac or PC users in an interactive, real-time environment.
"With the recent release of our ‘Universal-Binary’ compliant solution for both Power PC and the new Intel-Mac, Xchange Network now offers the only solution that enables users to share iCal and Address Book data, not only between Mac users, but also with PC users running Microsoft Outlook," stated Rhonda Lewandowski, CEO of Xchange Network.
XC Connect allows data to be read from and written to iCal and Address Book without the need for time-consuming and restrictive "publish-and-subscribe" methods. Synchronization can be set up to occur automatically at specific intervals, and users have the freedom to share as many calendars or address book groups as needed. Users can even define who has access to those groups and the level of access granted (i.e., read-only, read-write, or read-write-delete).
"Perhaps the biggest coup of all is the fact that data can be shared with Entourage, Outlook, and Evolution users as well,” stated Lewandowski. “In other words, events in a shared iCal calendar will also appear within other desktop applications. Additionally, if users have been granted permission to do so, they can modify or create additional events or contact records. No other software provider can claim to do that.”
