| Java.exe Error |
| |
How do I resolve the error 'java.exe has generated error and will be closed by Windows'? |
| |
This error is sometimes caused by either a bad memory SIMM stick or perhaps even the hard drive needing to be defragmented. Microsoft has a RAM tester that can be used to determine if there is a problem:

Also try defragmenting your hard drive as well as checking for spy-ware that may be corrupting the java process.
If that doesn't help, please check your java version. To do this:
1. Go to a DOS command prompt window. a. Start b. Run c. type "cmd" hit Enter.
2. Type "C:" hit Enter.
3. c:\xcnetwork\java\bin\java -version
If your version is less than JDK 1.4.2, an upgrade may help. The steps to upgrade your Java version are the following:
1. Stop the Xchange Network Server Start -> Programs -> Xchange Network Server -> Stop Server
2. Download the J2SE v 1.4.2_08 version from here - save it to a known location (your desktop is fine).
3. Unzip the download, * using folder names * to c:\xcnetwork\java overwriting the one's there: - bin - jre - lib
4. Delete the "tools.jar" file from c:\xcnetwork\tomcat\common\lib
5. Start the Xchange Network Server Start -> Programs -> Applications -> Xchange Network Server -> Start Server |
