| Extra Task Folder |

Why is there an extra Task folder within my Public Folder list? |
| |
In Outlook 2000, a calendar folder cannot be present in a PST file without a tasks folder. As a result, if you create a new PST file and create a calendar folder within it, it will automatically create a Tasks folder for that PST file which you cannot delete (says 'Tasks is a special folder. Special folders cannot be deleted').
To see what we mean, completely outside of XC Connect, do the following:
1. Create a new PST file in Outlook:
File -> New -> PST File
2. Give it a testing name and save it to a temp location.
3. Within the new PST, create a calendar folder.
4. Click on the new calendar folder. At this point, a Tasks folder will be created automatically by Outlook which you cannot remove.
Unfortunately, the same thing happens for us when creating folders programmatically. Microsoft seems to have resolved this issue in newer versions of Outlook, but has not patched it in Outlook 2000. |
