| Application Data - Windows ME |
| |
What do I do if I get error messages about the "Application Data" directory on the XC Connect Outlook Connector and I have the XC Client installed on Windows ME? |
| |
First - Windows ME is not a supported operating systems for XC Connect. However, if it works for you, great!
But, if you recieve an error such as "Cannot read/create your XC Connect Data Directory: C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\Xchange Network\XC Connect\Application Data\Xchange Network\...."
This is because Windows ME does not support the "Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data" format.
To resolve this:
1. Exit the XC Connect client 2. Create the directory: c:\program files\Xchange Network\XC Connect\application data\ 3. Update the registry key:
a. Go to Start | Run | and enter "regedit"
b. Navigate to: \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Xchange Network\
c. From the tool bar select Edit | New | String Value | and enter "UserHomeDir"
d. Double click on the newly created String Value and enter: "c:\program files\Xchange Network\XC Connect\application data\"
4. Start the XC Connect client again 5. Synchronize successfully. |
